Gail Kulur is the Owner of and principal Trainer for  “Make Sit Happen, LLC.” which is based in Hillsborough, New Jersey.  Gail began training dogs as a hobby, starting with the family dog! She apprenticed with local professional trainers and gained first-hand experience by teaching group classes for nearly ten years. She also became a volunteer for Labrador Retriever Rescue, which prompted her to pursue obedience training as a career.

Gail was certified as an obedience trainer through Animal Behavior and Training Associates (ABTA), and had taught pet dog obedience classes in several retail stores throughout New Jersey.  She also participated in a mentoring program for ABTA apprentice trainers, helping new trainers learn their skills and techniques.  Gail is a Professional Member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP) and is an active correspondent on numerous professional dog training internet lists. She is also a Professional Member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT).  She began training privately through her own company “Make Sit Happen Dog Obedience” in December 2000.  Gail is a certified, AKC-approved Canine Good Citizen evaluator, as well as a certified evaluator for The Bright & Beautiful Therapy Dogs. She is a volunteer trainer for MAGDRL (Mid-Atlantic Great Dane Rescue League) and continues to supplement her canine knowledge through class attendance, seminars, current literature and daily hands-on experience.  You may occasionally see her observing canine behavior and interacting at local dog parks!

Gail has been a full-time employee of Federal Express for over 26 years.  She installs and configures computers, and instructs her customers in the use of industry-specific software.  Her 'people skills' and professional experience have enhanced her ability to teach individuals from all walks of life.  Gail and her husband share their home with three dogs and two cats.  They have a grown son who lives in Boulder, Colorado.
